Stress is a common problem among many individuals now. People are at this point always stressed about something starting at an early age. Stress is linked to many disadvantages since it causes premature wrinkles, and other skin problems such as acne and psoriasis. Other problems arise from too much stress such as the central nervous system, respiratory and cardiovascular system, digestive, muscular, and immune system. I won't go into detail but here are 5 ways to reduce stress:
1. Meditate- This helps ease anxiety, and its as easy as going to a quiet, peaceful place, closing your eyes, and imagining, saying, or even just thinking about peaceful things. Keep all of the negative thoughts away for that time.
2. Reach Out- Go and talk to someone, whether its your friend, family member, roommate, or if it helps meet with a therapist once a week to clear your mind of what you've had on your mind or are struggling with.
3. Listen to Music- This can range from cranking up to hard rock, or listening to peaceful instrumental tunes. Music has shown through many studies helping every day in a person's life. It connects to people in an indescribable way, since everyone takes it different, therefore it's so great that there's so many music options because everyone can tune out and listen to what they enjoy the most. This is often very relaxing to the mind, and the person's body.
4. Move around- Whether this means to do a few jumping jacks or squats in your office after sitting for several hours or going for a morning jog. This helps relax the body, you may not notice it at first but it relaxes your whole body from your muscles relaxing, to your mind clearing from everything you've had to do. In general, exercise causes your body to relax and not be as tense.
5. Make sure to get enough sleep- Sleep is essential to function normally and give your body the essential energy it needs to do do everyday activities. At least 8 hours of sleep is suggested per each night to have your body fully rested and ready to work throughout the day.
