As said in the previous blog post, there are 5 main face shapes; oval, round, square, heart, and diamond. There are different kinds of bangs that work better with those certain face shapes.
Oval:
Since oval faces have a longer, but at the same time soft edged face, due to no harsh lines, choppy straight across bangs tend to look the best. A wispy fringe between the brows and lashes with hair longer at the sides makes the style less severe and is easier to incorporate in other hairstyles. Generally, the straight across fringe bangs accentuate the face shape and making the edges longer on the sides, the person can wear them side swept, or straight with a middle part.
Round:
Because round faces have also no harsh lines or edges, but are not as long, side swept bangs would be the best option. Side swept bangs would compliment round faced people since they're especially flattering on round faces, which are soft around the edges and often wider in the cheeks. The angle of the bangs creates an illusion of making the round face appear longer. When getting side bangs it is important to make sure to ask to get them thick, since wispy or fringe won't give the same effect and won't compliment the bone structure as well.
Square:
Since square faces have strong accentuated lines such as a strong jawline, curtain or "A" bangs would work well to curve out those strong lines of the face. They have the eye-catching look of blunt bangs, the softness of wispy bangs would draw attention to eyes and jawline rather than the strong corners of the face shape. Another alternative that would compliment square face shapes would be soft side swept bangs because it would draw attention to your eyes, not the corners of your face, cut off corners on the forehead to minimize a wide forehead and the soft look will compliment stronger facial features.
Heart:
Heart face shapes would benefit from a feather layered wispy fringe because it would soften the shape of the face and it would be easy and simple to style due to the thick amount of the hair (off the side, away from the face, or back.) The shortest pieces should hit the arch of your eyebrows; the longest should meet the outer corners of your eyes.
Diamond:
Diamond face shapes would suit bangs that are layered, fall around the center of the forehead, sides long, or side swept, and a deep part that will take the attention from the middle of the face away. This will help balance out narrow chin, and minimize the wide cheek bones. This will bring out the warmth and softness of the face.
Note: These are only suggestions for what could look good, styles and hair types as well as different kinds of facial features affect the choices chosen for every hairstyle!
